On Sunday, the announcement regarding the collaboration between Walt Disney Co and Target Corporation has revealed that as many as 25 Disney stores will be opened on the coming October 4th, across the United States inside selected Target locations. Furthermore, by next October, an additional 40 sites are also being planned.
Philadelphia, Denver, Chicago are few of the major cities that will feature these “shop- in- shop” which would include over 450 items from Disney. Out of these over 100 products were available for customers to purchase only at its locations.
In 2021, in the western entrance of the Walt Disney World Resort, Target will open a store at Flamingo Crossings Town Center in Florida; according to target’s Sunday announcement.
The Chairman and Chief executive officer at Target, Brian Cornell gave a statement sharing that the combination of Disney’s unmatched entertainment and storytelling with our omni-channel retail platform has the potential to create inspiring and unique experiences for our guests according to them.
Th4e statement by target also informed that Disney store specialty merchandise from Disney, Marvel, Star Wars and Pixar can be explored by the guests and purchased at select Target locations.
This “shop- in- shop” layout will encompass within a space of 750 square feet inside the Target stores. They will be operated by target itself and will be placed adjacent to the clothing and toys of children. Three years ago target experienced a slide from which it has now bounced back. Disney on the other hand defied Wall Street expectations by reporting steeper earnings.
